Gadar 2 Box Office Prediction
Gadar 2 Advance Booking
There’s a lot of excitement around Gadar 2. Even though it’s clashing with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, things are looking good for Sunny Deol’s film as Gadar 2 Advance Booking is better than OMG 2. The directorial by Anil Sharma is expected to have a strong start on its opening day, and the Independence Day holiday might give it an extra boost after the first Monday.
Regarding OMG 2, the movie starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi is gradually gaining momentum. Through day 1 advance booking, it has collected approximately 65 lakhs gross (excluding blocked seats).
In terms of ticket sales, Gadar 2 Advance Booking is taking the lead over OMG 2 by a significant margin of more than 1 lakh tickets. According to those in the trade, Gadar 2 could earn around Rs 25 crore on its first day. If the Gadar 2 Advance Booking continue to do well, it might even surpass Rs 30 crore. Gadar 2 vs OMG 2 Budget
If we take a look, both movies are popular because “Gadar” and “OMG” were successful in their own times. “Gadar” came out in 2001 and earned around 80 crore rupees, making it a blockbuster. “OMG” was released in 2012 and made approximately 80-85 crores in revenue. Now, there’s a tough competition between Gadar 2 & OMG 2 at the box office, and both have the potential to be successful. Film critics believe that both movies can do well. Their budgets are not very high, with Gadar 2 made with 70-80 crore rupees and OMG 2 made with 50-60 crore rupees. Both films need to earn around 100 crores to be considered successful, and this doesn’t seem too difficult. But if we take a look at both films, Gadar 2 Advance Booking is getting better with each passing day.
Fortunately, both films have the advantage of the Independence Day holiday, giving them a five-day weekend, which is quite a long period. This extended weekend provides more chances to attract audiences and achieve higher box office numbers.
According to the critics, the audience for both movies is different. “Gadar 2” is likely to do well in single-screen theaters, appealing to the masses, while “OMG 2” is better suited for multiplexes. If both films turn out to be good, they could even make up to 200-250 crores at the box office.
When “Gadar” clashed with “Lagaan”
Actor Sunny Deol is not bothered by box office clashes; what hurts him the most is how people perceive the facts. He is currently preparing for his latest movie, Gadar 2, which will be released on August 11 and will face off with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 at the box office. However, Deol is no stranger to clashes. Back in 2001, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was released on the same Friday as Aamir Khan’s globally acclaimed movie, Lagaan. While Lagaan received appreciation, became a hit, and even got a historic Oscar nomination, Gadar turned out to be a box office juggernaut, breaking records with its collections and footfalls.
In an interview, Deol shared his thoughts on the clash and said he doesn’t understand why people compare the two films, as Gadar grossed more than Rs 100 crore while Lagaan did “much lesser.” The comparison, according to Deol, happens from both a business and likeability perspective.
Sunny Deol revealed that from the beginning, Gadar – co-starring Ameesha Patel and directed by Anil Sharma – faced negative perceptions. People considered it a dated masala film, while Lagaan was instantly hailed as a classic. Despite this, Deol remained unfazed, as Gadar became a people’s film loved by the audience. The movie had to fight against perceptions even at award functions, where it was spoofed, but Deol didn’t let that bother him. He remembered that his other movies, like Ghayal and Aamir Khan’s Dil, also faced box office clashes in 1990.
Deol’s point is simple: even when a film is “better,” people try to compare it with others. He believes that something that’s incomparable shouldn’t be compared with anything else. In the movie “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” Tara Singh (portrayed by Deol) is a Sikh who falls in love with a Pakistani Muslim girl named Sakina (portrayed by Ameesha Patel). In the sequel, both Deol and Patel will return to play their roles again.
